How We Help
Grounded Minds Learning provides personalised, emotionally informed education support for children and young people from Reception to A-level. Support is tailored to each child’s individual needs, strengths, and emotional readiness, combining academic learning with practical strategies for regulation, routines, and confidence.
Services include 1:1 academic support, emotional regulation and learning readiness, and home-school planning, online or in-person. Support is available through weekly sessions or monthly support packages, offering consistent, flexible support that adapts as needs change.
1:1 Academic & Learning Support
This looks like tutoring, but it’s not traditional tutoring.
Sessions are tailored to the young person as a whole, not just the subject.
Support may include:
-
English and literacy support (Reception to A-Level)
-
Maths support (Reception to Year 6)
-
Study skills, organisation, and planning
-
Breaking work into manageable steps
-
Support with motivation and task initiation
-
Adjusting learning so it feels achievable rather than overwhelming
-
Online and/or in-person
Learning is paced carefully and adapted in real time, depending on how the young person is coping that day.

Home-School Planning and Support
This service is for families who are:
-
home-educating
-
flexi-schooling
-
transitioning out of school
-
using alternative provision
I support parents and young people to create realistic, supportive learning plans that balance progress with wellbeing.
Support can include:
-
an initial assessment of learning needs and emotional profile
-
creating an individual learning plan
-
guidance on curriculum choices and pacing
-
weekly or fortnightly check-ins with the young person
-
ongoing support for parents around routines, expectations, and structure
The aim is to reduce stress, increase consistency, and help learning feel manageable again for both the young person and the family.

Emotional Regulation & Learning Readiness
For many young people, learning can’t happen until they feel safe and regulated.
This support focuses on helping young people:
-
understand their emotional responses
-
recognise when they are becoming overwhelmed
-
learn practical regulation strategies
-
build predictable routines and habits
-
feel more in control and confident
This is not counselling or therapy.
It’s practical, skills-based support that helps young people become more ready to learn and engage.
Regulation strategies are often built into academic sessions, rather than treated as a separate thing.

Online Resources & Courses (Coming Soon)
Alongside 1:1 work, I create practical resources for parents and young people, including:

-
emotional regulation guides

-
learning readiness

regulation and routines
-
